Structural Purpose Matters

Shipping containers were designed for one purpose: transporting goods on ships. Their corrugated metal walls are load-bearing elements. Cutting large openings for window displays drastically weakens their structure and requires complex, expensive reinforcement. AP Projekt pavilions are built from scratch on a massive, independent steel frame. This allows us to install huge, panoramic aluminum glazing without any risk to the building’s stability.

Thermal Insulation: PIR vs. Thermal Bridges

Insulating a metal container is a construction nightmare. A steel box heats up instantly and cools down just as fast, and an internal insulation layer (e.g., spray foam) takes up valuable space and rarely eliminates all thermal bridges. In our pavilions, we use sandwich panels with a PIR core up to 100 mm thick. They act like a perfect thermos, providing phenomenal thermal comfort in summer and winter, while maintaining maximum usable interior space.

Aesthetics and Premium Image

In business, first impressions count. A premium client will immediately notice the difference between an industrial, corrugated “tin box” and an elegant, smooth pavilion. In our projects, we hide roof slopes behind an aesthetic parapet, use modern facades (snow white, graphite), and can finish the entire structure with decorative wood-like slats.
